Mr. Bangrappa, from Sagar worker in a saw mill ,had his thumb cutoff from the hand accidentally. The flywheel of the saw ,not only amputated the Thumb ,it also injured Index and Middle fingers badly. There was loss of Metacarpal & Phalangeal bones and severe burn injury to tissues.

This happened in the noon around 2 pm, was seen by us at 8pm in the night , about 6 hours later.

He was taken up in OT at earliest, & MICROSURGERY was completed by 11 pm saving the very important member of the hand – THE THUMB. Index & Middle fingers were damaged beyond salvage, couldnot be saved. Thumb, now works as a post against which remaining Ring & Little fingers can work, to achieve GRASP.
