Nose surgery, or rhinoplasty, is a very effective surgical solution for correcting or changing the size and shape of your nose. There are many different reasons for choosing rhinoplasty - you may feel your nose is too big for your facial features, or you have an unattractive bump or bulbous tip. Or perhaps you’ve had an accident or injury that’s left it looking distorted. Whatever the reason, rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, will change the appearance of your nose and help you feel more confident.
These instances include augmentation of the nasal bridge or filling in concave deformities, often found in asymmetrical, injured or misshapen noses. These nasal implants (nose sculpting) produce a very natural appearance of the nose, smooth contours, which usually cannot be achieved (regardless of the surgeon’s skill and good will) with cartilage grafts or other natural or synthetic implants or fillers.
Nose Surgery can Involve:
1. Reduction rhinoplasty – The nose is made smaller. This will involve reshaping the bridge and tip of the nose as well as the nostrils. Some bone and cartilage may also be removed.
2. Septorhinoplasty – The external appearance of the nose is altered (as above) as well as alteration of the internal septum.
3. Rhinotip – The tip of the nose and nostrils are altered.
